About Me

Hello

I’m Melodie (Mel) Lake, a writer and editor in Denver, CO.

Originally from Arizona, most of my career has been spent as a technical writer — I wrote legalese for health insurance companies for a decade or so. Nowadays I write short stories, novels, and creative nonfiction in my spare time.  I have written comic book reviews for Multiversity and was a volunteer reader for the literary magazine Capsule Stories.

Things I love:

  • the outdoors
  • my dog
  • comics
  • television

Things I don’t love:

  • talking about myself

If you’d like to get to know me and my writing journey, this blog post is a great way to start.
